Intercom
Control your SONOS system from anywhere
Objective
Create a complementary native app that sends messages to their SONOS system and out the speakers. Make sure the app can perform text-to-speech, record messages, intercom, and even change user’s voice to any number of options.
Requirements
The app must have a companion Watch app that can mimic all of the mobile app’s features as well. The mobile app must be able to perform intercom capabilities, as well as text-to-speech, save recordings, and playback any recording at a specific day/time. The user should also be able to purchase more options from an internal store of voices, etc.
Exploration
There were a few versions of the app we designed through, but we quickly found the right styling and execution. The app was acutely focused on recording and live intercom on the dashboard, while allowing the user to easily find other features within a tap.
Solution
The Intercom app became a delightfully easy companion to any SONOS speaker and allowed users to communicate from anywhere to their home and even have fun doing it.
Summary
This was an exciting project to work on. The app features a clean, open interface with large buttons and intuitive controls, making it easy to record, play, and intercom across Sonos speakers. No clutter, no unnecessary extras—just a seamless experience focused on getting the job done effortlessly.
